Recreational Vehicle Retailer
|
Challenge: The employees of a large recreational vehicle retailer were being offered six different individual disability and cancer policies from various carriers. The premiums were being payroll deducted, but there was no consistent employer-sponsored policy for disability or supplemental life insurance. Additionally, the company operates out of two locations in towns that are about 180 miles apart, so carrier representatives had a hard time servicing both stores. Solution: The Benefits Dept. was able to offer the employees of this company voluntary disability and life products on a group platform which cost less than the previous policies from a leading worksite insurance carrier and offer richer benefits. Now the company has a formal disability policy for its employees with standard benefits, and just one carrier to remit premiums. The group life insurance benefit now has a $200,000 guarantee issue limit and offers a spouse benefit of $50,000 with no medical underwriting. Account managers from The Benefits Dept. visit both locations on a monthly basis to explain the complete menu of benefits offered and enroll new hires, while also conducting an Open House where employees can ask questions or get help with claims issues. |
